About Alison

Real change is possible, but never easy.

Alison Jeffrey, MBA, CFRE is a professional fundraiser, strategist and writer.

For over 25 years, she has curated meaningful donor journeys, created organizational strategies that stick and coached results-driven fundraising talent.

Alison’s passion for fundraising started as a 10-year-old donating lemonade stand sales to her local hospital in St. Albert, Alberta. That early sense of purpose became her professional through line, guiding her towards the non-profit sector where she continues to create exceptional value for charitable organizations and their supporters.

Alison has lived and worked in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary, where she is now based. She has held both in-house and consultant roles with such prominent charities as Canadian Women’s Foundation, Wellspring Calgary, Vancouver Foundation, Dying with Dignity Canada, YW Calgary, St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation and Alberta Lung Association.

Alison Jeffrey understands that real change is possible but it's never easy. She meets that challenge with ingenuity, perseverance and equal parts creative ideation and rolled-up sleeves. She lights up at opportunities to bring her passion, experience, and expertise to the deep and courageous work of difference-making.

Alison holds an MBA in International Business Strategy from the University of Alberta and is a Certified Fundraising Executive. She received specialized training in major gifts, donor diversity and capital campaigns from Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.

As a writer, Alison’s pieces on social enterprise, gender equity and human rights have been published in Corporate Knights, Alberta Views, Avenue and University of Alberta Press.

Alison provided clarity and direction to Silver Lining's fundraising program. She rolled up her sleeves and spent the time to really understand our work, why it matters and how we could fundraise more effectively. Her assessment was rigorous and resulted in recommendations that were clear and that we could adapt right away. Tremendously valuable.
